We are “The Mighty GARRIDO Family”
We would like to take this time to thank you all for your great support and prayers. As a family we have gone through a lot of up’s and downs these last five month. Our faith in God has been tested but our friends and family have kept us with high hopes and in good spirits.
I can’t express how much it meant to us to see all the people on Facebook like, comment, or share our daily post on our setbacks and progress on our daily ordeal. All of the prayers and support we received from everyone really helped us to continue to go on and fighting this terrible disease.
I wish I could thank everyone but there are way too many people to name at this time. Just please know that every single one of you had a great impact on us. You guys motivated us day in and day out. The power of prayer really works and if it wasn’t for all of you guys it is very easy to throw in the towel and give up.
As you guys know on Tuesday my wife had surgery. Dr. Nash (surgeon) said that he was totally shocked on how well the chemo worked. The chemo in his own words “worked much better then what he anticipated”. Then he explain to me that “he was able to remove the rest of the Cancer out of her stomach”. As he kept on talking I just could not hold my tears of joy back. I could not wait to call my daughters and let them know the great news. Before I did Dr. Nash had one last thing to tell me “As of now she is Cancer free” My knees lost all the strength but I just let my adrenaline carry me out of the office.
I picked up my phone and called my daughters. I asked them to put the phone on speakers so I could tell them both the great news. Once I told them I did not hear anything and I thought they hung up the phone but when I listen I heard them crying in the background I asked them not to cry but like myself they had tears of joy.
Please know the reason why I write about our personal life is to see if we could help anyone that is going through something similar as to us. We know that now we have to go through recovery and we still have a battle to still fight but at least we now know that we are in the right place Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
GOD IS GREAT. GOD WE THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO. IN GOD WE TRUST. IN JESUS NAME. AMEN. WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. WE CAN, AND WE WILL. GIRLS WE LOVE YOU, TODAY IS GOING TO BE A GREAT DAY.
