Does The flag make the person?  Or does the person make the flag? The flag itself is just a symbol nothing more and nothing less. It does not speak but yet it says a lot..

“I pledge Allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one nation under God, indivisible,
with Liberty and Justice for all.”

Hate is not something that we are born with, hate is something that is taught. Do Not get fooled by the media or our politicians. Do Not let them sugarcoat this or smoke screen the real issues. If people bring the flag down does that mean that all racism, injustice, and inequality are all gone from America?

We went from 9 people getting killed in a church to “bring the down the flag” , are you kidding me. As a minority in this Country please keep the flag up, at least If I see the flag I know to go the other way, “Thanks for the warning.”

EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT  IT: CIVIL WAR IS OVER !!! The confederate flag is and was the symbol for the Democratic South and just in case you didn’t know the Democratic South didn’t want to give in to abolishing slavery so think about that for a second. Remember a Republican President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation.

January 1, 1863

President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, as the nation approached its third year of bloody civil war. The proclamation declared “that all persons held as slaves” within the rebellious states “are, and henceforward shall be free.”

I guess the memo didn’t get around the way it was suppose too. Bringing down the flag is not the solution nor does it have any significance on all the issues when it comes to race in America. For every Hate group in America there should be 100 peaceful groups on the defense. We can’t criminalize hate groups for their thoughts but we should hold them accountable for their recruiting of one person who acts out in any wrong way. That goes in all ways white, black, orange or green.

  1. The lone star over the word “Arkansas” in its flag stands, by Arkansas Code and reaffirmed by then governor Clinton, for the Confederate Army. I’m sure Hillary will claim, if asked, “I didn’t know”.

The race to judgement and removal of the flag in SC shows a widespread ignorance of its meaning. Like an innocent man sentenced for the murder of a man, Americans love a body to blame. It quells their call for vengeance, and the facts be damned. They sleep better knowing the law acted, regardless of how often it errs.

  2. Bringing down the flag is not the solution, it is the symptom of the illness called racism and the symptoms must be treated attended to in order to cure the disease. If people were flying the Nazi Flag o the Japanese flag, over statehouses, would you think it not the problem?

    • My point to this article is that prior to this terrible tragedy no news media or politician spoke this hard on this issue it might have been 2 lines in page 12 on any major news media. We have real big issues in this Country that need to be looked into. We need to unite now more than ever.

      • It is a long way from any solid change, this flag is a distraction from Black Like Me dying in the streets, unarmed Black Like Me. This flag never shot an unarmed person of color in the back. Racists throw a bone to Black people to deflect from the real issue, which is Black Genocide…and as usual we bite like the slaves we are. Focus is vital on the real issue, Black survival.
