Who has the real Power in Washington D.C. ? People usually make the mistake and think that the President of the United States does, the reality is that Congress holds the true power.
President Barack Obama on Wednesday, made the case for Congress to formally authorize the use of military force in the war against ISIS.
To authorize the limited use of the United States Armed Forces against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
Whereas the terrorist organization that has referred to itself as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and various other names (in this resolution referred to as ‘‘ISIL’’) poses a grave threat to the people and territorial integrity of Iraq and Syria, regional stability, and the national security interests of the United States and its allies and partners.
House Republican leaders were quick to dismiss the White House draft authorization as too limited, insisting that the President should have fewer limitations. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi took the opposite path during a press conference. “We hope to have bipartisan support for something that would limit the power of the President, but nonetheless protect the American people in a very strong way,” Pelosi said.
Once again Who holds The real power? Our founding fathers really knew what they where doing. Not one person holds the power. Congress will come together and take this joint resolution, discuss it and pass it as long as they come together to do so.
Just in case you ever wonder who holds THE REAL POWER now you know…
